Julia,I wonder if there is a museum in Bridlington about the history of the jumpers to go with the statue mentioned in the poem above? In Whitby there used to be an old building where you could buy the Ganseys and the yarn. Unfortunately it is now a restaurant...
Nice wordplay with the cables :) I could knit you a sweater, Ruth, but I'm better with steering wheel covers and vests. I could take a shot at the next JM line and "write you a love letter" :D I'm lucky that my big brother had lots of Joni Mitchell around for me to get into :)
Thanks Amanda I enjoy singing this song.I don't have a car so the cover's not needed, a vest on the other hand...;) I could knit myself a sweater but I may be waiting a long time! I started one about 30 years ago and I think I still have an arm to do...I came across it last year and thought one of the kids could have it as it's back in fashion !! Ha ha. I could do with a love letter though ;) Never really listened to any JM so this sent me researching, as usual.

That's a good song ruth, can't think how you learnt it in so short a time, just lovely.
My sister is a wool geek....she will be so fascinated to learn about these jumpers!!

Lovely, Ruth! I'm reminded of the line "Want to knit you a sweater..." from Joni's 'All I Want'... :)
