Laura's gorgeous version of a Bacharach & David song that I never heard anywhere else:
The image here is taken from the German film 'Barbara' (2012) - set in pre-fall of the wall Eastern Germany, it illuminates life under authoritarian control, where free speech and personal choice have been taken away. I thought it was a really good film - and the piano is quite important...
Bonus extra! This is a lovely meditation on Laura done by a young person! How refreshing!

I've just listened to Barbara Streisands version of the song too. Both beautiful. The lyrics though unfortunately are still so true...
It seems that that young girl, also has an older head on her shoulders in the appreciation of Laura's work.

Bacharach, a name I could never forget…:D Barbara was excellent: the good kissing movie with the handsome doctor, there were other highlights too :) Speaking of Laura Nyro tributes from the young people, Myles is working on a Minecraft-themed parody of Stoned Soul Picnic, called Stone Sword Picnic. The fun never stops around here.
