Stepping out from the house yesterday, catching the afternoon sunshine - and a good stride out towards Sharpham, the place where it all began for me in this area (I attended a retreat at Sharpham House in 2018 and never looked back :) ) What a glorious place... Back just before the storm started brewing though - this is definitely late autumn, the cold is beginning to bite a little, and unpredictable weather is on the way... Perfect to stay home sometimes and watch a film noir - or even better, join a livestream on the subject of Noirvember... (See you on Tuesday!!)

It’s a very beautiful place to have settled. See you Tuesday for the Noirvember stream!
So crystal clear....cant believe that storm is on the way...
Im attaching a piece by my friend Kathleen King, textile artist. Autumn Leaves. Fascinating story behind the bark backing ....hopefully I can also attach the text.
Autumn Leaves (26/26 cm. Mud dyed barkcloth, leaves and raffia). Following an inspiring workshop with Lesli Robertson. Making barkcloth is an ancient craft of the Baganda people in Uganda and is listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. There is a growing movement to protect the native Mutuba tree as well as the intricate craft, once banned by Western missionaries because it was associated with witchcraft.
What an idyll!
It looks beautiful. An Autumn walk sounds like a nice idea - weather permitting! Snow here in Brum..
I think I'll stay in on Tuesday and watch something!
