Taking a step back for a moment from the Irish preparations and returning to Lunar New Year - this is a brilliant presentation about Chinese and American roots music, and in particular how to weave together traditions of banjo playing and Chinese guzheng. It's really delightful, informative, and funny! And they find a novel way to make playing together over zoom possible - enjoy!
Resumed watching after community sing was over, right where they started The Water Is Wide. That’s the song I had requested at community sing, but we didn’t get to it. Wild coincidence!
I watched this yesterday, and as well as getting an understanding of the differences and similarities of the two instruments, I especially liked how their enjoyment of worki together shone through .How they gained support from each other as mothers who knew what it was like.(funny when the husband interjected but was asked to let them continue)
If anyone manages to write a tune that can be guaranteed to get babies to sleep they will be rich!😅
