Hi! I'm delighted you found this site! I'm excited to set it up, and really happy to have found a way to share some live music and a feeling of community through live-streaming. I was inspired by some brilliant livestreams that I happened to catch earlier in the pandemic, where I suddenly realised this format can work and there's a way of connecting even virtually. I found these shows quite moving and intimate - maybe you'll enjoy them too :)
Actually, the first best livestreams I saw came out of The Green Note - they're still broadcasting live, twice a week I think - it's a great format, three musicians taking it turns to share a song from their living rooms... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC17x67HGAEC80tGwnun9-eQ
That led on to Rachel Kilgour, who I hadn't heard before, but made a strong impression - her songs are really personal, and I like the self-deprecating humour https://youtu.be/M8-yYGZwS5M Olivia Chaney put out this lovely livestream, an at-home from the wilds of Yorkshire https://youtu.be/_1Mk0M7TtR0
Every week, pianist extraordinaire Eliane Rodrigues offers the most beautiful experience, playing a classical selection from her home (I think I learned more from her than anyone, how to be at ease and how to carry on even when things go unexpectedly!) https://www.elianerodrigues.com
And finally, I stumbled on this lovely livestream from Suzanne Vega. She's someone I've admired and listened to for years - how incredible to be invited into her home and sung to one-to-one! https://youtu.be/2l92IaXIlV8
I hope the experience with the Devon Lockdown Livestreams is a happy and powerful one too. Here we go!
