Daytrip to Taunton to lead a music session - and a chance to try real Somerset cider! At first there didn't seem so much choice - then I looked up and saw the wall of cider boxes... Disappointing sign on the piano though ;) Also visited the museum and art gallery, a good exhibition.
Laura Day 9! Laura has written many songs dedicated to children and bringing up a family, and in particular to her son Gil. They're really beautiful and poignant (and funny sometimes!).
I love the line in the first song here, "Kiss the sun hello, child in the park, make your life a loving thing" (it repeats with a few variations in the words). The second song I'm really reaching for the tissues, the images are so tender and I feel sorry that Laura left us so soon. Most of all, I'm reminded that Laura's songs are and always have been all about love...

Those always sound so sweet. Thanks for bringing them back around. Shame about the piano and I hope Santa finds more spacious digs. Very cool exhibit: the designs and colors remind me of Amish quilts. One must choose between singing and discovering? What ever happened to mutual inclusivity?
