I was so lucky to see Nick Cave in concert last week - kind of unbelievable... The sense of excitement before he came on stage was palpable, yet even upto the last minute, it was hard to know if this was real. When he finally appeared, looking about 10 feet tall, and waved to the audience, the person sitting next to me exclaimed "It's really him!". Nick Cave! In Poole! Live on stage! It was hard to grasp it! And then, he's such an intense performer - at times, it was almost overwhelming as a collective experience. Anyway, it was great; inspiring!
I was inspired to go down to Bianca and Massimo's restaurant in Totnes a couple of nights later and record this NC song:
