My banjo

One positive development here over the last 12 months was me finally getting a banjo! I've always loved the sound, I don't know why I didn't get one before. Anyway, the time was now and after much research I ordered a 5-string Deering Goodtime - I'm really happy with it! It's made in San Diego, where I'd recently been, so I felt connected with it from the start. And it came in the most beautiful box - that made no secret of what was inside! 'Music Makes Life Better' and 'Play The Banjo' are great statements to have emblazoned on the packaging :)) I've been really interested to learn more about the history of the banjo too (I have lots more to learn) - its African origins, its journey through the Caribbean and to North America brought by enslaved people, where perhaps it brought some comfort to their horrendous situation. Also its cousin-instruments all around the world. I'm still a total beginner but I'm happy to be including something on the banjo in each livestream so far!

I like how the box design is a riff, ha! a riff!, on the design of our dollar bills. The woman with the banjo over her shoulder...well, happy International Women’s Day! But the thing I like about your banjo is when you play it 🙂

Yes,I agree a lovely decorated box. ( and banjo of course!) The dilemma of trying to keep it intact or covering its beauty with packing tape. Try PVA and paper on the inside for added strength.

I've always admired packaging and tins.

Yes, it shows care and attention to detail to send it in a box like this, doesn't it! Also see Amanda's comment above - even cleverer than we realised!
