Countdown to our next livestream, setting sail a week tonight, Sunday 18th Apr at 8pm. The setlist is kind of still growing, but coming together - and there's definitely opportunity to join in (watch this space for more details!). You can set a reminder here if you want:
Also do check out the Over To You page on this site (see the link in the header bar) - some great contributions are starting to come in on a sea theme, thank you!
A great little clip of the jig dolls dancing-and music too of course!

What a sweet little jig doll! I've been making them - there's a real tradition here in Devon, and they normally have a competition every year at Dartmoor Folk Festival. Here's a clip of a session at the Bay Horse here in Totnes featuring Phil on the piano and a couple of jiggers from the days when such things were permitted!

Thanks for the jig doll name. My mom was a quilter and owned a fabric and craft store. The one pulled over the bed behind him is just the back of a flannel one she made. She made dozens. The one on his lap is this dahlia. It’s hand-pieced and hand-quilted. I’m not sure who made it, because Mom used to buy from quilters sometimes just to help them out, but whoever made this one got her points to come together.
Julia, they are known as Jig dolls and go by many other names such as Jolly boy or Limber Jack/ Jill, etc.
