Time for another Laura classic, the beautiful ballad Emmie. There are many different versions of Laura singing this on YouTube - because apparently it's the one song that she sang in every live performance. So here are two Emmies - the original version from 1968's Eli & The Thirteenth Confession album, and a late version from 1994 in a live setting with just piano and vocal trio backing (prefaced by Trees of the Ages - those "great green harmonies"). In a way the recordings span a career and a lifetime - it's a gorgeous song both ways.

"Lock me in delight a while" a beautiful line..
Hey Billy, you're just sending me off to sleep happy and relaxed after listening to you play your music and enjoying your gentle humour:)) Goodnight.
For no other reason other than the name ,I think of my friend Emily when I hear this loving song - American Emily. I then think about how she found Sierra Leone so beautiful compared to Conekry whered she was living, which leads me to think of Ayo...Music transports, carrys and lifts us in so many ways.
Absolutely beautiful stained glass windows! I didn't know about them or the poet... I think I will have to visit the Cathedral - and the Cotswolds make an appearance too! Oh I do love the colours and the detailed images.
I always like that “got the way to move me section.” Ornament, ornaments—that’s a good Christmas connection :) Did I wish you a happy holiday yet? Mmm, gorgeous—the window too! Ivor Gurney? I’ll investigate…
