Zero Waste Shop Stop

There are lots of good things about living in Totnes - one of them is being able to visit the Zero Waste Shop. It's such a good idea, I was happy to call in here yesterday :)

PS Maybe I'll call back for my curry ingredients...

Cool concept and look. I’ll have the pumpkin seed butter, please. It’s like our food co-ops here. They would weigh my containers on the way in. Regarding zero food waste: one here that redistributes excess from farm markets http://servegr.com/as/farmers-market-gleaner

The organisation I volunteer with is all about preventing waste. #feed bellies not bins Surplus food/ products is collected from supermarkets etc sorted ,and redistributed either directly to anyone in need or prior to the pandemic cooked at community PAYF cafes around Brum. It was formerly called The Real Junk Food Project Brum, but recently had a name change to Incredible Surplus. I'll be there again tomorrow packing upto 200 bags of food .

It is unbelievable the amount of food that would be wasted otherwise. All donations need to be recorded and weighed.

Birmingham is changing so quickly with lots of construction going on, and demolition- (unfortunately in some instances!)It does mean however that buildings that were once 'hidden' / industrial are coming to light and re purposed. Lots to discover and fairly compact! The canals are great places to explore too.

There is one of these in Digbeth and another in Bournville I think. They are really good. A bit more variety than the old scoop and save!!
